Does anyone know if the PS Pump Pulley from a '70 model car would fit and work for a '74 model year? Any help wpuld be appreciated!

Is this for the Delta? I don't think the big cars changed much from 70-74, did they?

Brenda, I know the bracket and pully spacing is different on the earlier cars than on the later cars. I THINK 72 and later is the same. It is not a good idea to mix early/late pulleys and brackets on the same engine because you'll have a nightmare of a time getting belts to line up. Belts need to be perfectly aligned with the pulleys, otherwise you'll "throw" belts. For the power steering pump pulley specifically, I don't know if that's the same from the earlier to later cars. If I had to guess, I'd doubt that it is. I can check my parts book and see if the part no. is the same. I know the pump itself is different. The earlier ones have a round housing with a more pronounced neck. The later ones are more of a teardrop shape.

Perhaps wishful thinking on my part. I was at the junk yard and got the brackets and pulleys from what I thought was a '74 Delta but found that the pulley would not work with the pump I got from Checker auto...really confusing! The one I got from the junk yard is pressed on and the one from the parts store has a nut on the end. Guess I am off the the junk yard again...it's 90 minutes there and another 90 back....another day shot.....I could be working on the car :)
