Ok folks I need some help. My cruise is not working. I am getting power to the dash switch, but I have not checked any other places. When I engage the cruise I here a clicking noise coming from under the hood near the pass side of the fire wall. I bought the car like this and I'm sure when the cruise did work. Any help would be great

Thanks
Denny

Mine does the exact same thing, clicking and all. I've had my 77 for 15 years, still haven't figured it out. At this stage of the game, it isn't exactly a priority. I'm lucky to get 1000 miles a year on it. Still, I guess it'd be nice to have it working.

Kinda hard to diag over a computer. I have a '77 service manual here that has a very detailed flow chart. I would say the chances of fixing it with the service manual is excellent. It's not a real complicated system, should be a fairly easy fix.

Here you go, not much time left though:

Denny, I hope to make it to Lansing Saturday, not 100% sure yet. I'm sure you'll find a service manual there, it was an awesome swap meet last year. I checked out your ride on the registry..........very sharp! Would love to see it in person. I always thought 77's were harder to come by than 76's, seems there's more 77's showing up lately.

Fixed my cruise. I found a hose not attached. It works great now. The only thing now my high speed went out on my blower. I think it might the high blower relay, but now I have a service manual to reference.
Todd I did find a service manual at the Olds Homecoming and picked it up for $5 great deal!!

That was an easy fix. Looks like you lucked out. All my hoses look to be attached. Funny thing, my high blower doesn't work either. I replaced the relay once before. It worked temporarily, for the rest of the summer, but then when I got it out of storage the following spring, nothing. Rear window defogger doesn't work either. Damn electrical gremlins!

Denny, I wish I could have made it to Lansing this year. Nice score on the manual, glad it was something simple with your cruise. See the "high blower fuse" topic in this forum on the high speed being inop......pretty commom problem.

Denny I also did not make it to Lansing (work), I still need rear bumper shock. So if you are going to be rolling thru Detroit area. Let me know I can hook up with you, Maybe Todd could join us? Hopfully my car will be back together?

Are the rear bumper shocks side specific or ambidextrous?

Update on high blower. The inline fuze was gone, replaced it and now it works fine.

Thanks for all your help

Are the rear bumper shocks side specific or ambidextrous? If you can tell me I might have one for you. I knew that they are different front and rear.
