I have had my cutlass for almost a year and have never seen a rear spoiler until I found this site. I love the look. Are they available new? Were the a factory option? Thanks

We've talked quite a bit about this topic in other posts, see "? for Brad" in this section and other threads. The spoilers you see on members cars here are off a '76 Buick Century Free Spirit and are getting hard to find. I found both of mine on ebay and paid $200 each for them. The one on my 442 I bought about 3 years ago and the one on the Supreme I got this last spring. There was a post by Andre [Bullrun H/O] about repoping these or something similar, but havn't heard anything more about it.

Thanks, I'll ad that to my look for list. I hope to go to Fall Carlisle. In the past I have done very well there.

Do we have an idea of cost for these? What are they made out of?

They are made from fiberglass.
I have not figured the price yet. If I can get enough people to order I can get a better price but it hasn't been determined yet.

Thanks guys I will be working on a front air dam and those bullet headlight covers. The end caps for the spoiler will be ready this summer. But for those of you who just want the basic spoiler that will be ready in a few more weeks. I will keep you all posted.
I actually need to get on OCA and the HOCA. I've been slacking in those departments...

Andre, I know this has been asked before, but are the spoilers a replica of the Buick Free Spirit or the '77 H/O prototype? Also, on the end caps, what tail lamp housings will they fit? We've come to the agreement that 73-77 Cutlass and 76-77 Regal/Century decklids are the same, but there are quite a few different tail lamp housings........just curious.

The spoiler is based on the H/O prototype and the Buick Free Spirit. It's actually lighter than the original but looks identical when mounted on a car. The end caps will be custom made from scratch and will fit the 75' Cutlass housing. I will later make them for 76-77 Olds.

Should make it out or carbon fiber. :) come to think of it.. should do a hood and deck lid from carbon also, i'm sure it'd save a ton of weight.

AS for the spoiler, carbon fiber will be more for the look because the weight savings is minimal. however a hood and decklid would be awesome. I have lookied into this already. That's next on the list...

Hey Andre, did I see you say that you were looking to make a FRONT spoiler too? That would be awesome. I would definately be interested in that!http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v417/vttedrm/cheers2.gif

Yes, that is absolutely correct. I will have a front spoiler for our cars. There may be two different ones. The first will be made of aluminum and then I will work on a fiberglass piece that will be completely different than the aluminum. They are both going to be functional and look bad ass. Go Olds!!!

This is the recreation. It sits completely flush with the body and weighs half of what an original weighs. It is also completely sealed but fully hollow and can be mounted using 3M tape so no holes are needed to be made. This is my Extreme shown here with no taillights. Spoiler has been bolted on because this sucker is going to reach some very high speeds...

Looks great Andre! Here's a pic of a Free Spirit spoiler on my Supreme for comparison.........looks very similar, maybe a little wider? May be because the pic is bigger and no tail lamp housing though. So how much will they be selling for?

Thanks. The demensions should be very similar to those of the free spirit spoiler since I based it off that. The major differences are the fact that this piece is completely sealed and much lighter. The end caps are being worked on now but so far they are being made to fit the 75' taillight housing. If there is enough interest I will work on 76-77 end caps for this spoiler. Price for the main center section will be set at $280. I wish I could sell it for less but that is really as low as it can sell for. End caps will be sold seperately since the main spoiler fits so many different cars. The end caps will be year make and model specific.
