I know this is a long shot but here goes. I am looking for a set of stainless 1/4 window trim, the large triangle type on cutlass S and 442. I know they go for a premium, but I am willing to consider any reasonable price. I am also still looking for a front header panel emblem for a 77 442. It does not have to be perfect, anything is better than the one I have.

Good luck - I have been looking for one for over 2 years (I don't have any on my car). They do show up on ebay occasionally, so I've been told, but I never have seen any. I know the Monte Carlo had different trim that won't fit, but do you know if the Buick Century will fit? They look similar...

Monte Carlo, Regal, Grand Prix, some Chevelle Malibu had the smaller rectangular quarter windows. Buick Century, Cutlass S 442, some Chevelle Malibu, Laguna,S-3, Lemans, Grand Ams,GTO, GT, had the triangular windows and some of these had the finned quarter window covering and some had the fastback style with the smaller quarter windows. The Hurst/Olds had different looking quarter windows too, but my 74 H/O had the same quarter windows as the S and 442 it was just covered over with the vinyl padded top and had a rectangular plastic piece that fit inside the window so you didn't see the backside of the top from the inside. I don't know if there are any hard and fast rules about which cars got which quarter windows but I do know they didn't make fastback style Monte Carlos, Regals or Grand Prixes but alot of parts from all those cars fit the Cutlass. El Camino parts cross over to the Cutlass alot too.
I think Century quarter window trim would fit the Cutlass, and they do show up on Ebay sometimes, I got 73 stainless trim there for a little less then $300 with shipping. Good luck searching.

Kevin,

I looked for several months before I found a set of 1/4 window mouldings. On E-bay there were a few sets of the stainless units, and every time I would bid on them a certain individual would out bid me. He would then polish and straighten them and relist them for a super-high price, which was about double of what I wanted to spend. I finally found a NOS plastic set on realoldspower.com for $150.00, but as a lot of people say, they are real flimsy and once they are installed you can't really remove them without risk of them breaking. I found a nice stainless set from a gentleman in the Olds Club of America for $150, they only needed a light polishing. If I was looking today I would probably run a wanted ad in Hemmings Motor News and I would think someone would have a set(s) for sale and for probably less money then the crazy prices on E-bay, etc. Good luck on the search.

Hey Jim thanks for the advice I haven't tried either of those sites, I'll post there tonight. Maybe I can find a front emblem too!
