Interior Dash Woodgrain

So I've noticed there seems to be a 'light' colored wood grain, like an oak color, and a darker/pine color..

Is it just me? Did the wood color change in certain models/years?

I've noticed that before as well. Seems the early 70's models were lighter than the later 70's. Not really sure why. Maybe they changed suppliers somewhere in the mid-70's.

I know the woodgrain on the console top plate will fade and look lighter than the dash panels.
