I was reading up on the lenghts and position of the trans mount on each. If I decide to switch out my TH350 for a TH400, will I need to find a different cross member? Or, are there holes in the frame to move the existing cross member? Any help appreciated. TIA.

You should have the holes in the frame already. You will need several other things as well, the drive shaft, the kickdown switch and wiring to complete it. I know when I picked up a T-400 I took the gas pedal assembly too. Hope this helps....

Yep, it helps. I'm already on the hunt for the switch. I believe I can make my own wires. At least I hope i can.

Theres 2 sets of holes in the frame. Just use the back sets. Your also going to need the correct front and center emergency brake cable if you are going to hook it up. I dont know if it will be possible to rig up your old cables.

Are you using a dualhump? If so you need the cables for a 74 with a 400 trans

No dual hump, yet. Kind of pricey. I still don't know if I want to take out the 48,000 mile motor to put in a 455. But if I decide, I want to be ready. Thanks for the heads up on the E-brake. I honestly don't know if it even works.
