ahh --- just new pictures --- i looked over your cardomain site --- might have to make some new banners...

did you ever figure out who Mark is?

They're old pics ['05] I just uploaded them. It actually looks worse now than the pic you put up in the banner. It's completely stripped to the shell, drivetrain out, glass removed, interior gutted etc. Would be real easy to do a frame off at this point, and I am considering it. Due to finances [i.e. broke  ] progress has come to a crawl, plus I think I'm just losing my ambition :( . I could sell one of the other cars, but I'm hoping things will turn around. I'm in no big hurry and I do enjoy the 2 cars that do run. Don't know who Mark is, It would be cool to find out a little history on it. It appears to be real close to the original, and I'm guessing they were done around the same time, but I'm not sure. Still debating on which way to go with it, but I think I'm leaning towards the H/O tribute.

Todd, your Hurst/442 looks better than the prototype. All the stripes and the body side moulding on the proto segments the car. Makes it looks like it's a Lego car. That's why the 442's didn't come with body side moulding from the factory.

Your car, with the bottom stripe shows the lines in a better way. Better on the bottom than the trunk IMO. I also like your padded roof over the proto.

were you thinking about losing the stripes along the bottom and adding the stripes to the hood/trunk?

I was thinking about making it look exactly like the prototype, white with the gold stripes on hood/deck, no 442 stripes/#'s. The prototype doesn't have body side moldings, they're actually gold pinstripe. I'm still trying to decide which way to go with it. I was able to save the padded roof if I wanted to go back the way it was, or I could leave the roof off and just have a 442 w/t-tops. Thanks for your input guys, like I said I still havn't decided. Here's the only color pic I've found of the white prototype.

seriously, you already got the 442..... go with the H/O replica. If I were in your shoes, that's the way I would go...

Chris, that's exactly what my reasoning was. I actually bought this car for that purpose, I sure as hell didn't need another one :D . The white would be real easy to do also, and wouldn't cost alot. I do agree with Ken on the stripes though, wish they would have done them like the 77 prototype. We'll see, should look good when finished.....someday :( .

How about I keep the gold top w/white targa type band, don't do the gold hood/deck stripes but paint the car white with the gold lower paint scheme like the 442 but no #'s. Wish I knew how to photoshop :( ..... Just pondering .

i'm still in favor of ditching the 442 stripes and going with the hood/trunk stripes. i might consider leaving the "442"'s on the doors in gold though.... but they had nothing to do with 442s after coming out of the shop as HOs, right?

Yea Chris, I'm just not diggin' the 442-H/O combo, either one or the other. I've made my final decision, H/O tribute to the 'T'. I've got alot of work ahead of me. Thanks again for your inputs everyone.

when the going gets tough, you know where to come for support! i think you're making the right decision. our cars aren't incredibly rare and an H/O prototype tribute would be a one-of-a-kind show stopper.
